Raytek MT4 Non-contact Mini Infrared Thermometer Buy

Infrared (IR) thermometers have become the preferred tool for diagnostics and inspection where temperature is an indicator. Raytek IR thermometers are valued by professionals in a variety of industries—from industrial maintenance to food service, because they quickly, accurately and safely measure surface temperature! Anywhere that temperature is a factor in process, product quality or diagnostics, a Raytek IR thermometer should be close at hand. IR thermometers are easy to use, and since they do not contact the object being measured, they are the safest way to measure hot, hard-to-reach, or moving parts, while eliminating potential damage and contamination. The Raytek MiniTemp MT4 thermometer incorporate many of the same features found in professional IR thermometers. The MiniTemp thermometer is perfect for auto enthusiasts performing self diagnostics and for those tackling home improvement projects. Use it for spotting costly energy losses around windows and doors, monitoring critical temperatures in kitchen or workshop, or ensuring the environment is comfortable and safe. Just pull the trigger! The MiniTemp thermometer shows the temperature in an instant on its large, backlit display. The simple to use MiniTemp MT4 thermometer becomes even easier to operate when aiming with the laser point. The Raytek MiniTemp MT4 thermometer: Smart, Simple, Safe—Convenient! The Raytek MT4 Mini Temp Non-Contact Thermometer Gun with Laser Sighting is the handiest infrared thermometer we have found. After trying several other brands over the past few years, we have found the Raytek to provide results closest to insertion thermometers. We primarily use three of these in our candle making business, but also have two for around the house and in the kitchen (including a ). Here are my observations:* Easy to use and aim with laser targeting (literally point and click)* Solid design takes a good bit abuse* Very accurate but takes surface temperature, so liquids should be stirred before readingHighly recommended!
I got one of these for Christmas two years ago. At first it was just a fun toy. Then I realized out how useful it could be. I diagnosed a sticking brake caliper by checking the temp of my rotors. We used it to set the thermostat in the freezer. I now know my oven is off by about 25. I know the hot spots on my BBQ. We check the temp in the hot tub to see if it’s warm enough yet. It gets used much more than I thought it would. BTW. It’s still a fun toy. Our cat chases the laser everywhere.
I love the Raytek MT4. It is quite accurate and good for any number of household jobs. Both my wife and I use it in the kitchen for everything from checking the oven to the refrigerator. I even use it to check on when I need to clean the fan on my laptop computer. The grand kids love it too but need to be supervised so that they will not shine the laser bean in each others eyes. We even took it on a vacation trip to Yellowstone NP where it was a big hit. We have given one as a Christmas gift to all our family members and all have reported great new uses from checking the wood stove to the heated seats in cars. Buy it and you will wonder how you did without it.

Elegant Radiometer

At the time I purchased this version of the Radiometer, the Amazon price was $10.95, with free Super-Saver shipping available. I have seen the identical model retailing in science gift shops and catalogs for $12.95 to $15.95, so I was quite happy with the Amazon price. The device is sturdily constructed, for what it is. Keep in mind, this is a thin glass bulb similar to a light bulb; it will shatter when dropped. The rotating vanes inside, while intricately crafted, are delicate and not designed to withstand heavy shaking or jarring. It is not a “toy,” particularly not for young children. Rather, it is an interesting scientific novelty, or a “curio,” not intended for frequent handling. The bulb is securely affixed to the black plastic base. I appreciate the “retro” appearance of the base, reminiscent of antique bakelite.
This fascinating little gadget has been around for years. It is the approximate size and shape of a clear, standard incandescent lightbulb, with a base to stand on. Inside, instead of a filament, there is a small structure of four square vanes held atop a sharp needle, allowing the apparatus to spin. The vanes are colored white on one side and black on the other. Through action of direct sunlight, the vanes spin; the brighter and clearer the light, the faster they spin. The physics of it are explained on an insert. No batteries required, just put it on a sunny windowsill and watch it go!This really is a terrific and fascinating demonstration of the power of the sun. No matter that now that I am older I understand the physics of it, it is still a remarkable and awesome thing.

Deals for PSI Woodworking LCENT4 4 Piece Wood Lathe Center Set for #2 MT

Ordered the set for my wood lathe. Amazon shipped it fast and received within two days. The centers come in a wooden box with foam inserts. All looked nice and shiny. The two spur centers are sharp right out of the box, and seems high quality. I’m not sure if they are high speed steel as I haven’t used them long enough to tell. But the cup live center is a different story. Right out of the box, I notice the bearing is not turning smoothly. As you rotate it by hand, you will feel a click once per every rotation. It seems that the bearing has a defect in the bearing track. I didn’t bother putting them on the lathe, as the rough bearing will certainly ruin a work piece. I returned it the next day.
I purchased this set for my Jet 1442 wood lathe and I will review the most important aspects of these tools.1. overall finish of the tools are rough and gritty. Tolorances are not real high…2. Bearing in the live center is gritty as if the bearing grease is contaminated with chips or sand..3. Bearing tolarence is average to poor. Grease seems to be too light.3. Center pin in the live center is not removable..4. Small live center has no center pin at all..5. One reviewer wrote that the units were hollow and the drift rod got stuck in the hole. I found this not to be the case as my standard drift rod was larger than the holes. You get what you pay for….overall I give this unit 4 stars for the price…..If I disregard the price I give this unit 2 stars…mainly because of the drive spurs

Clinical Biochemistry: An Illustrated Colour Text Cheaper

This is a great resource for first year medical students who want to develop a good basic understanding of biochemistry in the clinical setting. I have been using this text/atlas a great deal as a good tool to get a quick idea of topics (which are actually written in quite good depth) and then to bring concepts together. If you like to learn through pictures and diagrams, then this is a must have!

This book covers all the clinical biochemistry needed by undergraduate medical students. It is an Illustrated Colour Text with the subject matter divided into double-page spreads; this makes the information very accessible to the reader. The whole orientation of the book is to concentrate on how clinical biochemistry relates to the care of the patient and to ensure that the medical student understands how to interpret laboratory results. By contrast, the reader is not overburdened by descriptions of laboratory techniques.

Spanish version also available, ISBN: 84-8174-523-5This is a great resource for first year medical students who want to develop a good basic understanding of biochemistry in the clinical setting. More Affordable ThinkFun Zingo 1-2-3

I have the original Zingo! game in my Preschool classroom and my students LOVE it!! When I heard of Zingo 1-2-3 and found it @ Amazon (at least […] cheaper than the teacher catalogs that come to my school), I immediately jumped on it. The game teaches number recognition, grouping, counting, and even operations. Zingo 1-2-3 is very age and developmentally appropriate and children are learning while playing – doing addition and not even realizing it! I have parents who went out and purchased the game for home and came back talking of how the whole family played the game and had so much fun!! Its a face paced, loud game as everyone is racing to be the quickest to fill their card and shout ZINGO!
This game is good for kids who just learned to count to those who know their numbers. It’s also good in helping kids learn how to count and then find the corresponding numeric tile. I play with my 3 year old and he loves matching the number to the pictures. On a side note, the tiles do sometimes stick together when you slide the holder. But I notice it happens less frequent the more you slide it and play with it.
Bought this for our 4yr old because we also have Zingo; which she loves. She also loves Zingo 1-2-3 because we are spending time together as a family and she is encouraged and excited about learning new things. I would recommend this to anyone.
